Chic in Chambray

Technically, this post should be titled Chic in Chambray and Denim Shirts but that didn't have the same ring just Chic in Chambray.  I used to wear chambray and denim shirts in college until they were practically falling apart but tossed them aside after I moved to New York.  As these photos suggest, chambray, denim and Western shirts are classics that never really go out of style but they are definitely seeing a resurgance lately.  I even went out and bought myself a new one.  I look forward to wearing it with dark jeans and to tone down the sweetness of my floral skirts.  Just wish I looked as good in it as Jenna Lyons!  Bon Weekend!

Joan Mitchell: Lady Painter

I am still editing all my photos from High Point but decided to take a break today.  While catching up on my favorite websites, I was excited to read on Vogue.com that there is a book about to be released about my favorite artist Joan Mitchell. While I absolutely love Joan Mitchell's abstract paintings, I just realized that I don't know much about her life. Joan Mitchell: Lady Painter by Patricia Albers won't be out until May 3rd so I'll have to wait until then to read it...unless Knopf wants to send me an advance copy as a birthday present.  I have no shame when it comes to a subject I love!  Bon Weekend!

Chic and Cozy Cottage

It's a long holiday weekend and that means many people will be getting away.  Designer Stephen Shubel's chic fisherman's cottage in Sausalito looks like a chic yet cozy place spend some time off.  He describes it as being "like Marie Antoinette in a t-shirt...the past recreated for today."  He mixes French furniture with nautical touches that refer back to the cottage's seaside location.  Definitely makes me wish I was getting away again this weekend!

Under the Tuscan Sun

Big flakes of snow are coming down in New York but it's not getting me down because I'm dreaming of Italy.  When I first saw Castello di Vicarello in Vogue, I couldn't wait to check out their website for more photos.  It's even more gorgeous than I thought but also made me disappointed that I didn't win the lottery this week.  I would have bought this place and never looked back.   Luckily, it's a hotel and spa so at least I can still book a room.  Bon Weekend!
